Lantern Labs
Let's build something awesome!
Light Work
The big guys give you what they give you. At Lantern Labs, we work directly with you to build exactly what you need.
Here's how we're different: I build your app with you — you're part of the process, you decide what features it should have. We'll work one-on-one to iterate, refine, and build exactly what fits your workflow.
Budget tight? No worries! Let's start small, get something going, then add more later. Flexible design at a flexible cost.
Because honestly? I just love building apps. If you've got an idea and you're willing to collaborate, we'll figure it out — let's just build something awesome!
Tech Stack
How It Works
Chat
You share your vision of the product you want with me. We discuss details, price, time expectations.
Build
I build it with you. You see progress, give feedback, I reiterate, repeat until you're happy.
Launch
Your site/app goes live. I handle deployment, store listings, hosting — all of it. Then I provide tech support after in-case there's any hiccups.
Cross-Platform Apps
Built with diversity in mind so you can reach the widest audience. All software and apps are fully tested and available on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Websites & Dashboards
Built from the ground up using the standard front end stack HTML/CSS/JS. Limitless capability, lightning fast load times, proven and battle tested.
Backend & Cloud
Firebase handles the backend: authentication, Firestore databases, cloud storage, Cloud Functions, and hosting. Trusted, robust, and used by major corporations so you're getting the same capabilities they are.
Tooling & Automation
Simplify your work load or automate things just because you can. Python is basically the tool for making the tools you didn't know you needed.
Design & Prototyping
I design. You get a full workable demo UI/UX that looks good and actually makes sense. We'll reiterate and lock in the your vision before your codebase ever goes live so launch day can feel truly special.

Hey, Hi, Howdy! I'm Alva
I enjoy building apps and designing websites. It's my creative outlet and the thing that holds my attention the most.
Philosophy
I believe in being the change I want to see in the world. I've seen too many multimillion, multibillion, dollar companies put out subpar products that I'm forced to use knowing full well I can design something better and charge a fraction of what they do. So that's what I'm trying to do!
I want to provide a quality product, that you'll feel confident will work as intended, look how you want, have the features you want, and be affordable to the average person starting their business that hasn't turned a profit yet but needs a website or app or special software tool. The small guy deserves a shot at playing the big leagues too! I should know, I'm one of them!
Background
It all started in... 6th grade? 7th? when I figured out that the Internet can tell you how to do literally anything.Like how to jailbreak your ipod so you could have cool themes and custom apps nobody else had. I also discovered that other people would pay me to do the same thing to their devices! .
Then in Highschool Skyrim came out and it was all downhill from there. My PC couldn't run Skyrim so I looked up what I had to do to so that it could. Install a new graphics card? Which means installing a bigger PSU? Which means... I think you get it.
Then as they say... All roads lead to Rome? Well, all tech shenanigans lead to Linux. But you don't want to hear about incredibly superior Linux is than... Everything else, so I'll spare you the speech.
What I'm Working On
This. That. The other thing. The thing I forgot about. The thing I can't stop thinking about.
Mostly website design, Linux applets/desklets and software tools. (No Photoshop in Linux so I built my own!)
Also Signal Fire Base. But I'm not ready to talk about that yet.
The Journey So Far
Every project taught me something new
Flame Bound — TTRPG Companion
The one that started it all. A tabletop RPG companion app — character builder, digital character sheets, encounter tracker, dice roller, and interactive maps. Built for a game world from scratch.
Ski Resort Workforce Management
A full workforce management system for a ski resort. Timesheets, task assignments, role-based permissions. Integrated SyncFusion, Microsoft Graph, Weather.gov, and Open-Meteo APIs.
Android Idle Game
An idle game for Android. Farm, hunt, cook, sell at the market, hire adventurers, send them on quests. Still a work in progress — turns out game balance is hard.
Hours Worked Tracker
A personal time tracking tool. Clock in, clock out, tallies hours worked. Simple, clean, gets the job done.
Linux Time & Calendar Applet
A configurable desktop applet for Linux. Displays the time, date, and a full calendar. Because the default one wasn't cutting it.
Linux Desktop Dice Roller
A Linux desklet for rolling dice — d4 through d20. Lives on the desktop for quick rolls. Perfect for tabletop sessions.
You're Here Now! 🏮
This very website. Built from scratch — custom CSS, Firebase backend, SVG lantern with easter eggs, AI chatbot, and way too many late nights tweaking glow effects.
Signal Fire Base 🔥
The biggest project yet. Details coming soon — this one's going to be special. Stay tuned.
Personal Test GUI
My personal UI testing playground for trying out new components and layouts. Currently broken — why won't you work!?!? 😭
